Intermediate News - Hills Speech Competition
At the Hills Speech Competition on Wednesday 9th June, Wilford did extremely well for our first ever entry into this competition. All speakers were commended on their high standard of performance by the judges - broadcaster Dick Weir, and author and educationalist Janice Marriot. The competition was won by Alex Smisek Room One, and Luke Fowler Room Two came second. Third place went to a pupil from Maungaraki School. Congratulations to Alex and Luke for their achievements and our other speakers Tom Curtis, Chris Smithies, Denise Gumabay, Tiana Wilson, Madeleine Worsley and Mikayla Lewin for doing our syndicate and school proud.
